Big Hat Energy

Accessories are making a major comeback in 2019. I know they’ve always been quietly there, adding the perfect touch to an outfit, but I believe that accessories are really going to make the outfit this year.

One accessory I cannot wait to embrace is the hat. Now, the hat has gone through several silhouette revivals in recent years, but now it’s bigger than ever. It isn’t the year of the cap or the felt hat. It is the year of ALL the hats. And honestly, I couldn’t be more thrilled.

I fully intend to explore this trend in all ways possible. The big felt hat, the floppy brim hat, the straw hat (for spring/summer), the cap, the baseball hat, heck, I’m even into the updated fedora hat. Gimme alllll of them. The only one I’m showing even the slightest hesitation on is the bucket hat. Because… I mean, that takes a certain amount of confidence to pull off. Am I completely taking it off the list? Hell no! All bets are off this year! But I think it’ll take the perfect bucket hat/situation for me to pull that one off…

I’ve already taken the leap and invested in a large, rancher hat from Lack of Color. And let me tell you, I am in love. It’s big, it’s bold and I am here for it.

I’m wearing the Zulu Rancher hat and my friend Sarah is wearing the Lola Cap. Honestly, all I have to say are good things about this brand. It was shipped quickly, the packaging was functional and cute and the hats themselves are great quality. I will say I’ve had my eye on this hat for while, but always hesitated because of the price. However, if you are looking for a high-quality, staple hat that you will wear over and over again, then you should check this brand out. It’s worth it!

Lack of Color has so many cute hats and with summer coming up I definitely need a warm weather option. Below are a few more that I’m crushing on!

For winter, I’m wearing it with neutral sweaters so the focus is on the hat. The sweater keeps it casual for coffee dates or brunches. I’m looking forward to transitioning this hat into Spring (hopefully, sooner rather than later) with flowy skirts and dresses. I’m definitely going for a free-spirited wanderer in a western mountain vibe way. It’s a look.

Are you into hats this year as much as me? I would love to hear about what your favorite style is below! Also lmk if you’ve found the perfect bucket hat – I’m going to need it if I’m going to pull it off! Tips and tricks are appreciated with that one…

Thanks for reading and keep exploring!

xoxo,

Katelynn
