Manifest 2019

Usually I start off the New Year with a resolution in mind. A few year’s ago I wanted to travel more. The year after that I wanted to “yes” more. And to be honest, I can’t even remember what last year’s resolution was…

I decided that this year, I’m going to try doing something different. It’s time to try making a list of goals. I wrote them down (see below) and hope this year they stick. (I physically wrote them and I’m now putting them on the internet for all to see… they better stick. Anyone want to volunteer to hold me accountable?)

Part of the reason I wanted to focus on multiple goals this year is because I have so much I want to accomplish.

As I reflected on this past year, I realized that it really got away from me. I’m not going to lie, it was tough. And not only tough on me, but my friends and family as well. I lost myself a bit. I let friends down and I let myself down. I’m not quite where I want to be in my life and I really let that feeling take over. It felt like I was just trying to stay afloat, but even then I wasn’t being my best self.

This holiday break I was able to slow down, disconnect and really re-center myself. It was extremely needed and I am so thankful I was able to take that time.

With that said, I am SO excited for this upcoming year. I took a while to compile this list and I think reaching for these goals will really help me find balance in the New Year.

  1. Travel to two new places this year – I already have a tentative trip planned later in the year, but here’s hoping for another! I love traveling anywhere I can, even if I’ve been there multiple times before. This year, however, I want to explore more unknown places. I’m craving an adventure!
  2. Drink more water – This may seem pretty basic, but I am so dehydrated all the time. I cannot drink enough water. I’m one of those people who will literally choose anything else to drink. So I’m very excited to see what drinking enough water will do for my health (and my skin, and my nails, and maybe I’ll lose those 15 lbs… maybe)!
  3. Pay off my credit cards – Now, this one… this one’s a big goal. The odds of reaching this are not in my favor. But, I have to try. So here we go… (Insert laughing emoji… or maybe crying emoji. Not sure.)
  4. Make a budget – This one obvi goes along with the above goal. I tried this a few years ago… and it didn’t work. Shocker. I’m going to try a different method this year and hopefully stick to it, otherwise the above goal ain’t gonna happen.
  5. Go to the gym more – Fitness definitely took a back seat, especially during the last half of the year. (I mean, it moved from the backseat to just straight up outta the car Nov & Dec). I’m starting out with a realistic goal of once a week in January and will move to twice a week come February. I’m trying to be practical here…
  6. Start saying “yes” to things outside my comfort zone – this is probably the goal I’m most nervous about. I’ve picked up photography as a side hobby, but would really like to turn it into something more. I need to put myself out there this year and start making more progress. (So if you’re in the NYC area and need a photographer lmk!)

So that’s it! Those are my goals for the year. Since it’s my first year doing this, hopefully these goals are attainable, yet still big enough to where I need to grow in order to reach them. I’d love to hear what your goals are for the New Year – let me know in the comments below!

And HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!!
I hope everyone had a fun and safe NYE! ( I did – Please refer to blurry, terrible quality photos below!)

Let’s kick this year’s ass!

Thank you for reading and keep exploring this year!

xoxo

What a great list! Travel to a new place is also on mine… perhaps we’ll end up in the same place!
