Whether you’re celebrating this year with a s/o, your gal pals, or on your own (that’ll be me, thnx so much), throwing on a red lipstick will get you in the mood to celebrate lurveeee.
I swear by Nars for lipstick, so most of these recs are theirs. However, I’ve got a few other favorites that you need to try out!
- Nars Audacious Lipstick – Charlotte
Love this deep red color – definitely looks darker in the tube than on your lips, so don’t feel intimidated by it! Has a creamy finish and stays pretty well. I love that it’s hydrating too!
2. Nars Powermatte Lip Pigment – Starwoman
This liquid lipstick staysssss (for dayssss). Honestly, this one is amazing if you’re heading out for a night of eating and drinking. It has a small doe-foot applicator that allows precise application. Definitely a must if you want a red that you don’t need to worry about smudging all night.
3. Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil – Cruella
This pencil makes it really easy to apply this pretty red shade. It has a velvet matte finish, so it’s not super drying, which I love! Also not super bold, so I would rock this on a standard day.
4. Nars Audacious Lipstick – Lana
I know what you’re thinking… SHE ORANGE! But honestly, sometimes you just need a bold, bright, orangey-red. And this girl is the perfect one for the job! Has a satin finish and as you can see, a vivid, bold coverage.
5. Clinique Long Last Lipstick – Chianti
Unfortunately this color is retired (*cue sob). I wanted to include it though, because Clinique’s formula is great! I’ve had this shade for yearssss. It was one of the first reds I bought because it’s such a subdued, almost nude red. It looks like the shade 08 Intimately may be similar!
6. Nudestix Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencil – Stiletto
So another one of my all-time favorite brands is Nudestix and their lip pencils are amazing! They honestly stay so well. I went through a phase where I literally needed to own every shade they had. This shade is an amazing vivid red color. I used to wear it out to the bars and not worry about smudging (*I miss the good ol’ times).
7. Nars Lipstick – Red Lizard
Apparently this color was one of the 12 shades that launched the brand, which is pretty cool – clearly it’s a classic for a reason. Nars has re-formulated it, but I have the old version. I’m sure the new one is even better, so I’ll have to remember to check it out! I love this cooler toned shade and it’s been my go-to for years now!
